BDC is now a registered DBS checking service.Â
The British Dance Council is now a registered body with the DBS service. All licence holders, dance teachers or anyone else who is eligible is now able to make an application for a DBS check through the Council.Â

BDC now offers discounts for safeguarding training.
We are also pleased to offer online safeguarding and child protection training through the NSPCC at a reduced rate of £24. This is purely voluntary but is of great benefit to anyone working with children and young people.
Anyone who undertakes the training will receive a CPD certificate issued by the providers (NSPCC), confirming you have completed the course.

All concerns, disclosures, allegations and complaints made to the British Dance Council will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and without fear or favour.
Our Board of Directors, promoters and licence holders have a responsibility to work together to create a safe environment for children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Our aims are to encourage, promote and develop all aspects of dance in a professional and competitive way, ensuring all participants are free from any form of abuse.
Our Safeguarding Officer works independently from the Board of Directors and anyone raising a concern can be sure that it will be dealt with in accordance with good practises, a legal framework and when appropriate, with the assistance of outside agencies.
