- To encourage continued personal development for amateurs and professionals through regular congresses

- For the exchange of ideas through its various committees to develop best practice in dance

- To encourage all teachers of dance to enlist the protection of a recognised dance teacher organization
- To encourage the public to attend only classes run by dance teachers qualified with a recognised teacher organization.
