Detailed below are the FRC proposals/propositions that have been agreed and passed following the ADFP National AGM on 14th September 2025. These will be effective from 1st January 2026:
New Amateur Rule
1. No skin tone coloured only fabrics are permitted to be worn by beginners or as plain wear in any other grade
1.1 In accordance with safeguarding any skin tone fabric that gives the illusion that the dancer is naked in an inappropriate body area is not permitted
New Promoter and Professional Rule
2. Access to any designated official area at events is strictly limited to authorised personnel only. Authorised personnel includes event staff, adjudicators and professionals directly involved in the event
New Amateur Rule
3. All competitive dancers at FRC events must adhere to a strict Dance Code that prohibits sexualised and/or provocative movements and gestures. This applies to routines and walking on and off the floor.
New wording for 4.1 e: in the Professional Rules
4. That all professionals and adjudicators at ADFP/BDC events adhere to a dress code that upholds ADFP/BDC values. Overly sexualised attire is prohibited including style, fabric and accessories
Additional wording for 15.9.1 in the Promoters Rules
5. Any dancer aged between 12 and 15 years may not dance after midnight. Promoters must ensure that this is taken in to account when preparing the programme schedule for any event. This is extended to presentations, dance-offs and tops of events
New Promoters Rule
6. Only two adjacent age groups can be combined in U12 events

7. ’A 10% discretionary will apply’
Additional point to be added to 13.4 in the Promoters Rules
8. Where a semi final is not recalled using the normal recall process and one competitor is left either backstage or in the public domain having not made the final, in the interest of their mental health and wellbeing they participate in the final but are automatically placed last. This is in accordance with ADFP/BDC Safeguarding and Child Protection

Rule 16(f) to be removed and Rule 17(g) to read:
‘When a premier championship dancer has lost 3 lives, one being a 1st place at a championship event, they cannot revert to championship grade at the next age group change’
Remove from Rule 62(a)
‘The recall from the semi-final to the final must not be less than 50%’
Amendment to Rule 21€ to read:
In line with the ADFP safeguarding/child protection policy, costumes must be appropriate. The Chairman will have the right to request a change of costume or the dancer will be removed from the event.
Entries in advance
This has been allowed during and after Covid and the membership would like to leave it until the end of 2022. Scrutineers must give out random selected numbers at each competition.
Amalgamating age groups
To be put as a temporary measure for 12 months and then reviewed. Promoters could have the option to adopt this system or not for the next 12 months, for Trophy Days only.
Rule 17(f):
Remove ‘Be a 1st place before the dancer moves up a grade.
Rule 49 add (h)
At Championship events with more than one panel of adjudicators, all adjudicators must be used from at least the semi-final onwards.
Please note amateur registrations have increased to £18 from 1st October 2022
